Walloon Lake, Michigan

The value of real estate in Walloon Lake has been increasing over the years since 1970. Currently there are several large houses built in the area. The lake has two major camps namely: the University of Michigan Alumni Association Camp and Camp Dagget. Rapid developments in the area started in 2010, where several new condominiums were constructed. In 2014 property developers agreed to build a new hotel between the condominiums and marina.

Those who like Walloon Lake say that it’s unique. With at least 30 miles of wooded shoreline, Walloon Lake is the 22nd largest lake in Michigan. The lake is deep and clean, measuring 80-100 foot depths. The lake is at least 100 feet higher than the neighboring Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan

Residents refer to their homes as being on the “foot”, or “west arm” and such. Walloon Lake covers 17.3 square kilometers and is purely fed from groundwater.
